Daniel Scott "Danny" Powell, Sr., 52, of Myrtle Beach, passed away peacefully Monday, February 6, 2017 at Tidelands Community Hospice House with his loving children by his side. He was born May 29, 1964 in Little Rock, AR, son of the late William and Linda Powell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: son, D. Scott Powell, Jr. of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Victoria Powell (Martin Corona) of Spartanburg; daughter, Michele Tallent (Blake) of Columbus, NC; daughter, Tonya McCraw of Greer; grandchildren, Lorrie Treadwell of Spartanburg, Alexis McCraw (Dylan Moore) of Columbus, NC, Austin Belue of Landrum, Cameron, Christian and Nicholas Tallent, all of Columbus, NC; great-grandchild, Blaine Andrew Moore; and brother, Vincent Powell of TX.

Celebrating the life of Daniel Scott "Danny" Powell, Sr.
Thank you for signing Daniel Scott "Danny" Powell, Sr.'s Guestbook
I am so sad to hear of Danny's passing. I only knew Danny for a short time, while he was working for me renovating a house we bought in Greenville. It was after his wife had passed, as a matter of fact, "just" after his wife had passed. But he was so devoted to the work, and to the memory of "Joy" and the financial responsibility ahead, he insisted he was fine. Danny did the work of 2 men, easily. He was the best at what he did I've ever known, and trust me, he did a lot. I am a better person for having known him, and wish he hadn't been taken so young. They've said that only the "good die young." Well, here's one proof for sure. God bless your family and your friends and I pray that God will make more men like Danny in the future. The world would be a MUCH better place. Peace.

Heaven has been blessed with another wonderful angel. He is definitely at peace with his beautiful Joy. I was given a gift from God to share 3 and a half phenomenal years, of my life, with Danny and his amazing children. Not a day passed without his humor, his fun laughter, his gift of love, and never ending spirit. He made us all laugh, he sang every song with passion, and if he wasn't giving you a high five you got an amazing hug. You are in my thoughts and all of our prayers. All my love to you and your beautiful children. A big hug is sent to you from me and my family. Hugs from us all. Love, Valerie Parker

The world without Danny is going to be a world without sunshine and laughter for all that knew him. I will always be grateful for the time that he was a part of our family and a true friend to our daughter, Valerie. Rest in peace dear one. "Mother Burton"

There is nothing I can say about Danny that his family and friends doesn't already know. He loved his wife and children, he was a loyal friend, he gave a good days work for a days pay. He was a good man. He impacted a lot of people in both large and small ways. He has left an impression that will last forever.
