Jane Ellen Madaris, 92, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family, at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, on May 17, 2017. She was born in Warren, Ohio on April 8, 1925 to the late James Seborn and Helen (Bower) Goodwin.
Along with her parents, Jane is preceded in passing by her sons, Roger and Rodney Madaris; sisters, Camella Meckley and Maryann Greever; as well as her brothers, Homer, Phillip, and Billy Goodwin.
Jane was a caring and humble person who loved her family with her whole heart. In her free time, she made beautiful floral arrangements, relished visiting the beach and loved to read. Jane was a fantastic cook and looked forward to having her family together. Prior to her relocation to Surfside Beach, Jane was a member of Mount Calvary Community Church in Franconia, Virginia for many years.
Left to cherish Jane’s memory is her beloved husband of 73 years, John De Madaris; children, John C. Madaris and his wife Mary of Virginia, Jeffery Douglas Madaris and his wife Barbara of South Carolina, Sharon Madaris- Riley of South Carolina, and Nancy McMillian of Florida; grandchildren, Arthur, Johnny, Lanny, Kim, Krista, Cindy, Michele, Jennifer, Donnie, Wesley, Stephen, Robin, Valarie, Karen and Dana; many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a large extended family.
A Celebration of Jane’s life will be held at Mount Calvary community church, 6731 Beulah St., Franconia Virginia on June 3rd at 1 pm.
The family would like to especially thank Waccamaw Hospital, their Emergency Service and Critical Care Team for their dedication and care during this difficult time.

Sorry for the loss of your love one. John 5:28, 29 assures Jesus will restore life to those who has died. Revelation 21:3, 4 gives further assurance death will be swallowed up forever. This is a comforting thought knowing your loved one is in God's memory. Hope this brings comfort.
