Joy Bailey Stone, 71, of Myrtle Beach, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. She was born on August 25, 1946 in Greenwood, South Carolina to the late Cecil C. & Sarah Frasier Bailey.
Along with her parents, Joy is reunited with her nephew, Chris Bailey.
Joy had a love for all things beautiful. She was a big believer in stopping to smell the roses and loved gardening. In her free time, Joy relished visiting the local beaches, scuba diving, roller coasters and appreciated all kinds of music. Above all else, Joy loved spending time with her grandson.
Left to cherish Joy’s memory are her beloved husband of 54 years, David Norman Stone of Myrtle Beach; their son, David Shannon Stone and wife, Pamela; Joy’s adoring grandson, Davy Stone; her brothers, Cecil Jerome Bailey and wife, Judy, of Texas & Johnny Bailey of Gilbert, SC; nieces and nephews Michael, Dewayne, Stephanie & Kevin; as well as many loving, supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Joy’s life will be held at a later date.
Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Murrells Inlet (843.651.1440) is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements

Celebrating the life of Joy Bailey Stone
Thank you for signing Joy Bailey Stone's Guestbook
Joy and I graduated from Greenwood High in 1964 and had the privilege of connecting a few years ago when she and David moved to Myrtle Beach to be near their son Shannon, his wife Pam, and grandson Davy. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them and enjoyed bragging on her only grandson as we grandmothers like to do. Charlie and I enjoyed visiting her and David. One of my fond memories of Joy was taking her to get her nails done. She loved that Fiery Red polish! We enjoyed riding in my convertible that morning. Your family will miss her so much, but you will recall so many precious memories as she lives on in your heart. Love, Sherrill Allen.
