Elaine Marie Ferruzzo, 71, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side on Monday March 5, 2018 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet. She was born on July 29, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Gustavo & Margaret Keena Monelt.
Along with her parents, Elaine is reunited with the love of her life and beloved husband of 26 years, Vince Ferruzzo.
An artistic and outgoing person, Elaine loved to paint and be immersed in all the beauty around her. She had a personality and heart larger than life itself, she was the life of the party and had a marvelous sense of humor. Elaine liked to believe she would never grow up. This belief led her to flourish while assisting children with disabilities, which she did before retiring to be wife and homemaker. She has touched many with her spirit and will be always fondly remembered.
Left to cherish Elaine’s memory is her best friend and daughter, Denise Boyer and her husband, Thomas of Myrtle Beach; her grandchildren, Tanner & Jocelyn; her step-grandchildren, Bret & Chase; her brothers, Dave Monelt, Thomas Monelt, & Christopher Monelt; her sisters, AnnMarie Place & Sharron Monelt; her sisters in law, Millie Monelt and Tina Monelt; and many loving and supportive family, friends and neighbors.
A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday March 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM at St. Michael Catholic Church, Cypress Ave. Garden City, South Carolina.
At the request of the family, memorial contributions in Elaine’s name may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to: Boys Town, 200 Flanagan Boulevard, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010.

So very sorry for your loss! She was an amazing & feisty woman! One of my favorite memories are hearing her light blue Volkswagen coming around the corner on Swan Lane before we even saw her.
