Lawrence A. Pinkowski, III



Lawrence A. Pinkowski, 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 8, 2018 at Vibra Healthcare in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He was born on October 12, 1951 in Niskayuna, New York to the late Lawrence A. Pinkowski, Jr. & Winnifred Borah Pinkowski.

In his early years, Lawrence loved fishing, hunting and camping on Quaker Mountain in Wilmington, New York with his father and grandfather. His love for the outdoors and adventure, led him to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS Steinaker in Norfolk, Virginia and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his honorable discharge, Lawrence went on to become an Auxiliary Police Officer in Schenectady, New York, for more than 20 years. He retired from the New York Retirement System.

Upon his relocation to South Carolina, Lawrence became a Cub Scout Leader for Troop 819 in Garden City, was a member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard out of Murrells Inlet, and was an active member in the Murrells Inlet, Myrtle Beach & Pawleys Island Elks Lodge, as well as a past exalted ruler in New York. Above all else, Lawrence loved his family with his whole heart and he truly appreciated spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 33 years, Kathleen L. Pinkowski of Conway; their daughter, Krystal Pinkowski; and his grandchildren, James A. & Hailie M. Roberts.

A Celebration of Lawrence’s life will be held on Friday May 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. The family will greet friends at 6:00 PM until the time of service.
