Peggy Day Hunter, 79, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed suddenly Saturday, June 02, 2018 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 13, 1938 in Wilkes County, NC, loving daughter to Press Lewis Day and Ada Vina Day.
In 1958, she married William “Bill” James Hunter, who was her loving and devoted husband for 56 years and preceded her in death on May 5th, 2014.
Surviving are her loving children and respective partners, William James Hunter, Jr. and wife Tammy of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters; Ann Hucks and husband Danny of Mint Hill, N.C. and Jeanie Del Sordo and husband Jeffrey of Charlotte, N.C.;
Surviving are her eight beloved grandchildren, Lydia, Cassidy, Tiffany, Ashley, Hope, Holly, Sydney, & Nicholas; as well as one great grandchild, Noah.
Surviving are sister-in-laws, Doris Hunter of Delaware, Linda Moser and husband Ken of Raleigh, N.C, Joanne Day of Rural Retreat, VA and Carol Bassitt of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Stanley Day and his wife Betty of Davidson, NC; sisters, Doris Taylor and her husband Glen of Winston Salem and Betty Jo Byrd of Clemmons, NC; niece Diane Stone and her husband Larry of North Wilkesboro, NC;
Peggy owned and operated Flowers by Tiffany for 24 years in Charlotte, NC, prior to retiring to the coast with her husband.
She was an avid gardener, and outside the Florist, she spent many hours in her gardens in Charlotte and her home at the SC Coast planting flowers for everyone to enjoy.
Peggy and Bill enjoyed many wonderful years at the coast and truly considered it their home.
Services will be 4:00, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home and Cremation Services with visitation one hour prior to services.
