Gary Paul Aiesi, 74, of Pawleys Island, SC passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 04, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born October 20, 1943 in Fitchburg, MA, son of the late Salvatore "Sam" and Genevieve Capone Aiesi.
Survivors include his wife of forty eight years, Susan M. Aiesi of Pawleys Island; one daughter, Jo-Ellen "Beansie" Aiesi of Huntersville, NC; one son, Jason "Jaybird" Aiesi of Pawleys Island; one grandson, Ian Aiesi of Conway; one granddaughter, Emerson Aiesi of Conway; one sister, Dale (Al) Brunell of Leominster, MA; one niece, Heidi (Mark) Towle and one nephew, Samuel Stemm.
Gary proudly served in the United States Army Reserve for five years. He received the award for Mr. Biddy Basketball in 1962 from the City of Fitchburg, MA. Along with basketball, he was an avid softball and ice hockey player in men's leagues throughout the city of Fitchburg. His team, M&M Variety, won numerous softball championships. In addition to his softball accolades, he traveled with the Bud Light Old Knights' traveling hockey team throughout the Northeast and Canada. Gary received a bachelor's degree in History from Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, NH. Often referred to as "Ace", he worked as a Field Services Manager with San-Vel and Lonestar Industries in Littleton, MA, and later moved to SC where he worked and retired from Florence Concrete Products. Gary was well-known for nicknaming his family & close friends and was a fan of all Boston professional sports teams. He took great pride in his Italian heritage and enjoyment in the large family gatherings at his parents' home on Hobson St.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held 2:00PM Saturday, September 08, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 with Father Paul MacNeil officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
The celebration of Gary's life will continue afterwards at the Governor's Lounge 2520 S Highway 17 Business, Garden City, SC 29576. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.

Sorry Gary has passed. As a young kid we played ball on Railroad Street with cousin Sandy.
