Gerald T. “Jerry” Lindsay, 76, passed away unexpectedly after a tragic car accident on Friday September 7, 2018 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on December 18, 1941 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late George A. Lindsay & Mary E. Simon Lindsay.
Along with his parents, Jerry is reunited with his brothers, George, Richard, & Jack Lindsay; his sister, Jane Clarke; his niece, Mary Beth Chrystal; as well as his beloved Golden Retrievers , Freddie & Lilly.
Jerry loved to walk and enjoyed the outdoors. He could be found walking the local beaches or anywhere his feet could take him. He enjoyed listening to country music and visiting the casinos. Jerry was a huge Ohio sports fan and took pride in cheering on his Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Jerry’s true love was his family and friends and enjoyed nothing more than having a beer and a “hook” with them.
Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his beloved wife of 31 years, Linda Rock-Lindsay of Myrtle Beach; their children, Stephanie and her husband, David Bucci of Youngstown, OH, Suzanne Ginty of Youngstown, OH, Erin and her husband, Mike Marshall of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sara Ferreri and her fiancée, Bill Donnadio of Struthers, OH & Zachary Rock of Pittsburgh, PA; his adoring grandchildren, Libby Bucci, PJ Ginty, Aaron Rock, Patrick Ginty, Allison Ginty, Tyler Ferreri, (and his father, Dan Ferreri) Sadie Rae Marshall, Brooklynn Rock, Gunnar Marshall, Dayna Donnadio, Ryan Donnadio, his beloved K-9 companion, Lexi & The Cronies.
Jerry’s family have found comfort in his mantra, “If I die tomorrow....I’ve lived the best life..." as well as knowing he is resting peacefully at the "campground" and will be forever remembered for his "Jerry-isms."
The family wishes to acknowledge, with heartfelt appreciation, the support and response of the Trauma Team and SICU unit of Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. May God bless you.

I first met Jerry in the 80s at Enrico's Bar in Austintown, Ohio. We played golf and went to see the Fitch Falcons play high school football. We also had fun when we took a group trip to Las Vegas. Gene Chiplock and I visited him and Linda in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and you made us feel very welcomed. We are so sorry for this sudden loss and our prayers are with you and your family.
