Obituary

TONY MORELAND AGE 71 OF PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC DIED ON WEDNESDAY OCT. 3 2018 IN CHARLESTON SC. HE IS IN GOD’S PRESENCE REUNITED WITH LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS THAT HAVE GONE BEFORE.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS LOVING AND DEVOTED WIFE OF 22 YEARS ANNE ARMSTRONG MORELAND, DAUGTHER LINDSEY MOISER AND HUSBAND DEREK OF COLFAX, NC, SISTER CAROL MORELAND COLE AND BOYCE COLE OF INDIAN TRAIL, NC, MOTHER IN-LAW “MOMMA SARAH” ARMSTONG AND BROTHER IN-LAW RAY ARMSTRONG. OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS INCLUDE NIECE’S: AMY ARMSTRONG STADLER AND KEITH STADLER OF GARDEN CITY, SC, CHRISTINA HORTON OF DAVIE, FLA., TODD AND BETH DIGGS OF STALLINGS, NC, ALLISON AND KEITH ADAMS OF INDIAN TRAIL, NC. GRANDCHILDREN: MASON AND ARDEN MOSIER. GREAT NEICES AND NEPHEWS INCLUDE: HUNTER YATES, GRANT LUNSFORD, GRANT AND ANNA STADLER, HARRISON AND AIDAN DIGGS, VANCE AND JULIA COLE.

TONY WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS FATHER HARRY EUGENE MORELAND, MOTHER CAMILLA OWENS MORELAND AND BROTHER IN-LAW EARL GRAHAM ARMSTONG.

CHARLOTTE WAS HOME TO TONY FOR MANY YEARS UNTIL HE MET ANNE AND MADE PAWLEYS ISLAND HIS PERMANT HOME WHERE THEY HAD A WONDERFUL LIFE AND MADE MANY FRIENDS. HE WAS A PROUD EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY GRADUATE AND HAS BEEN AN AVID PIRATE FAN THROUGHOUT HIS LIFETIME. HIS FRATERNITY BROTHERS OF “THETA CHI” REMAINED DEAR AND CLOSE TO HIS HEART. TONYS LOVE OF SPORTS OFTEN TIMES PUT HIM AT ODDS WITH ANNES TENNESSEE VOLS.

TONY WAS A REAL ESTATE AGENT IN THE MYRTLE BEACH AREA AND WAS MOST RECENTLY WITH THE SLOAN REALTY GROUP. TONY MADE MANY LASTING BUSINESS FRIENDS OVER THE YEARS IN REAL ESTATE AND AT BUTLER COMPANY.

TONYS LOVE FOR FAMILY AND FAMILY GATHERINGS GAVE HIM THE PERFECT PLATFORM FOR HIS UNIQUE BANTERING, TELLING STORIES AND DRY HUMOR. THE MEMORIES WE ALL HAVE OF HIM WILL REMAIN IN OUR HEARTS AND WILL CONTINUE TO BRING US MANY SMILES AND LAUGHTER.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE IS BEING HELD ON MONDAY OCTOBER 8TH AT 1:OOPM AT BURROUGHS FUNERAL HOME LOCATED AT 3558 OLD KINGS HWY MURRELLS INLET, SC 29576. WE WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE SERVICE.

THE FAMILY WANTS TO EXPRESS DEEP APPRECIATION FOR THE AMOUNT OF LOVE AND SUPPORT WE HAVE RECEIVED, AND KNOW THAT TONY’S MEMORY WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
