Cynthia Gayle Coleman, 55, passed away on Thursday, October 04, after an extended and very courageous battle with cancer. Her mother, Mary Jane Duke, was at her side. Gayle did not “go gentle into that good night." Her love of living never waned, and she fought death until her last breath.
Gayle was was born May 30, 1963, in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a talented crafts person and was successful in the construction industry for many years. She loved boating, fishing, all things ocean and all things Inlet, as in Murrells Inlet.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, Gayle is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Duke, her biological father, William H. Coleman, her father, Aaron A. “Skip” Duke and brothers Aaron A. “Trey” Duke III (Rachael), David A. Duke (Kristin) and a sister, Andrea C. Duke.
All who knew Gayle will remember her generosity, sense of humor and loyalty to a wide and diverse circle of friends. She was no respecter of persons but a friend to everyone. She loved life, lived it to the fullest and left us, no doubt, singing “I did it my way!”
In Gayle’s honor, please consider a donation to CourageousKidz.org, A Safe Haven for Kids with Cancer. They utilize 96.5% of donated funds to support children with cancer and their families.
