Honey, as Helene was affectionately known as, was an active parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church in Garden City. She was an avid reader who loved to play the lottery, and go out to eat with her friends. Honey never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile.

She went on to become a beloved school teacher for many years and later was a successful residential realtor. She also spent many years in a third career in retail, working in sales for B. Altman & Co. and Macy’s where she put her sense of style and people skills to work. Honey’s bright light touched many lives through her work and in her community. She will be deeply missed by many.

I will miss taking Honey out to eat at night. I miss her already. I have fond memories. We shared lots of laughs together. She had a beautiful home at Thrive but she didn't like having to stay there for dinner, she enjoyed eating dinner out. We had good times with special memories. It just isn't the same now and I feel really strange without her. She loved her sweets as much as a glass of wine. Just tonight I passed by a restaurant in North Myrtle Beach where we were a few months ago and she loved their Carrot Cake. When I passed there tonight I turned around and went back, went inside and bought a piece of Carrot Cake. We often shared dessert. Her half is in my fridge. It seems everything I do now I can't help but think of her. I went to my Grandson's football game tonight and normally she would be with me. Every where I go and everything I do now I will think she should be with me. May she rest in peace. :)Janice Sattele

Honey loved animals and always greeted little Avis with a smile & treats! He loved to visit her and she loved his visits. Her exuberant personage will surely be missed. My condolences to her family and friends.
