Celebrating the life of William F. Burton, III
Thank you for signing William F. Burton, III's Guestbook
My husband Ken & I worked with Bill in the mid 90's in Charlotte. We had many great laughs and an unforgettable weekend when Bill came to visit us in New Jersey. We are so thankful we were able to reconnect through Facebook. Ken had many long heart to heart conversations with Bill, the last phone conversation just 10 days prior to Bill passing. Bill was an inspiration to us. Our condolences to Gayle and the family. Godspeed Bill! We will not forget you.

Along with others, I am a high school classmate of Bill and from graduation day we went in separate directions and just reconnected in the last couple of years on Facebook. We swapped posts and conversations and became pretty good friends once again. I miss that connection since his passing and know that God has removed him from all the pain he has been experiencing. My condolences to you, Gayle, and his remaining family, and we can be assured he is in a better place where we will one day meet again. God bless you and your family in this time.

I, too, graduated with Billy from Fairmont High School. We were close friends for several years; but as fate had it, we took different paths after the mid 70's. I had no idea he was struggling with cancer. I was shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. Knowing Billy the way I did, I am sure he showed courage until the end. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Gayle, and your family. May my special friend from so many years ago RIP . . .

I graduated from high school with Billy, as we knew him. He was such a joy. He could really make us laugh with his quick with. My husband has been dealing with renal cell carcinoma for the past 7 years. He has had all the affected areas surgically removed. He is on chemo orally now and is strong enough to play golf 2-3 times a week. I can appreciate all you have endured. His posts on Facebook have been very encouraging to us. May you find comfort that all is well with home now. God assures that we will be reunited one day. Peace be unto you all.

To the Family of Bill Burton,
I did not know Bill except through Facebook. My first encounter with Bill was when he posted on a sight that both of us were members of. He posted that he had cancer and he was afraid although he was a big tough guy. My heart went out to him. God gave me the gift of writing and encouragement and I posted a lot of devotionals. He always liked them and shared them, There were days when I myself was too tired to post but I would always think about Bill, so God would give me the courage to keep posting. In the short time I knew him he inspired me to keep encouraging others and to keep on doing what good God called me to do. I have never met him but I know I will someday in heaven. He had a quiet depth of character. To Gayle, thank you for allowing him to be himself until the end. Thank you for letting his FB friends know of his passing. I will remember him fondly. May God bless all of you and fill you with His peace now and forevermore. Sincerely, Janet Cannon Bailey
