Barry E. Brown, age 73, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his residence in Murrells Inlet surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Monroe, NC, Mr. Brown was the son of the late Eugene and Doris Brown. He was a 1963 graduate of Garinger High School in Charlotte, NC and was a proud United States Air Force and Vietnam Veteran. During his military service Mr. Brown was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and worked special assignments with the United States Marine Corps. He was employed with United Parcel Service for over 25 years which allowed him to travel from NC to cities all over the United States. He retired from UPS in Maryland where he worked as Division Manager in the Baltimore-Washington area. After retiring Mr. Brown, his wife, Priscilla and their daughter, Kathleen moved to South Carolina in 1995. He was an avid golfer and a member of Wachesaw Plantation where enjoyed the comradery of his fellow golfers and club members. Mr. Brown was a sports enthusiast who loved to watch all sports but most especially the Atlanta Braves and North Carolina Tar Heels.
Survivors include his loving wife, Priscilla S. Brown; loving daughter, Kathleen E. Brown, Charleston, SC; sister, Judy Brown Yates and her husband Richard Yates, NC; cousins, Janice Crump and Rita Leggett, NC; niece, Kimberly, NC.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet.

Priscilla, we heard about Barry just now or we would have been at the service. What an amazing man to spend your life with. You and your family were very fortunate to have him and we are so glad we got to be with you two some. I will remember him on the boat at sunset singing!!
