Friday morning I had an amazing experience. A Rose Breasted Grosbeak landed next to me on the deck. Rather than standing quietly and watch him, I casually said good morning. He reacted by turning to me and singing a melodious song before flying away. Later that day I learned that my brother, Chet, succumbed to a long-term illness. Although it is contrary to my nature, I like to believe that this beautiful bird was carrying his spirit to say goodbye one last time before he flew away. Rest in peace my brother, your spirit is now free to fly with the birds.

Dad you taught me the importance of working hard, making a budget, having fun. You always took care of your family first before yourself. I will miss calling you to get advice. You made each move an adventure. I remember when you got my lunch and I got yours, all you got was a raw potato and some butter. Thanks for making the best out of it. Your love knew no bounds.
